As well as an awesome free eBook, we’re running an online course. It’s based around a series of structured modules which are delivered weekly. The 8 week THDC experience is a series of interconnected modules, but has a flow which builds on each week as we go. We start with connection

Part 1 – Making Connections

We’ll reinforce why it’s so much easier to do whatever it is you’re planning with a team. We’ll show you how to make connections outside of the group, but the major focus is setting this group of THDCers up for success. You’ll introduce yourself to your new team members, find out who everyone is, what they’re dreaming of and where they are now. Be prepared to be totally honest and vulnerable. Judgement is not allowed!

This section also sets up another fundamental of THDC – Action! This isn’t a theoretical class, you will get out of it rewards proportionate to the action you take, so we’ll talk about how to overcome whatever might be holding you back, and GET SHIT DONE.

Part 2 – How to make money online

This week we’ll talk through the six broad types of internet business models, and look at which are most suited to micro businesses. We’ll work on what the right model for your business is, and lay the foundations for success in your venture.

Using case studies of successful businesses, we’ll show you the ones that can be started with a hundred bucks and guide you away from those you’ll need a miracle to make happen.

We’ll break everything down to one simple formula which will make sense of and simplify all of the things you need to do to get your online business moving.

Part 3 – Cement Your idea

Whether you already know what you want to do, or you have absolutely no idea about your idea, so to speak, this week will get things into clear, sharp focus.

We’ll introduce you to tools for generating unlimited ideas and some simple tests to check if yours is a good one. We’ll start you thinking about how you can differentiate yourself and stand out from the crowd.

A little thinking upfront can mean the difference between a profitable company, and a business that becomes and expensive time consuming hobby, and that’s what this module is all about

Part 4 – Your target audience

Do you know who your ideal customer is? We’ll work together to find out exactly what it is they want from you and how you can delight them.

The essence of running a successful small businesses is connecting with the right customers. Get this bit right and selling becomes a pleasure, not something to shy away from. Get it wrong and you might find yourself trying to sell ice to Eskimos.

Part 5 – Technology for beginners

If you’re going to run your business online, you need to know something about how the technology works. We’ll show you how simple it is to get started and take away the mystery and fear about building websites.  We’ll talk domains, hosting, wordpress, landing pages, signups and all kinds of stuff that’s essential to making your mark online.

If you really don’t want to do this step, knowing this stuff will let you get more out of any professionals you decide to hire in the future if you don’t want to diy, but we’re sure you’ll be itching to create by the time we’re done. If you’re a seasoned pro at the tech, there’s still things for you in here. We’ve built websites that handle millions of visitors and hundreds of millions of dollars of sales, so if we don’t know how to do something, we probably know someone who does. (there’s that connections thing again!)

Part 6 – Learning to write for the web

By this point, you’ll have your very own space on the world wide web (wow eh?). What are you going to fill it with? Whatever your business is, the words you use to describe it are super important to both your customers and search engines. We’ve got you covered for words which will get the attention of your customers and Google.

Even if the last thing you wrote was years ago, we’ll help you find your voice set you up to make a good impression.

Part 7 – All about traffic 

No, not the stuff you sit in on your way to work. We’ll leave that sort of traffic to motivate you to quit commuting, whilst we talk about the life-blood of any online business: visitors to your site.

We’ll look at why you need to care about traffic and set out some simple methods to get more of it, covering SEO, paid advertising content marketing and more. This is something most courses don’t tell you – it’s no good having an exquisitely crafted corner of the web that no on ever visits, you need to get it in front of people.

Part 8 – Dive into Social Media

You probably know a bit about social media already – or maybe you don’t. Whether you’re a twitter whizz, or don’t even have a Facebook account, we’ll show you how social media is important for your online business, and what you should be doing to make the most of it. We’ll show you why most tips and tricks you read about are a waste of time, and get you on the road to doing it right.

Part 9 – Bonus wrap-up week

After the course content’s over, we’ll spend a week collecting together everything we’ve done and reflecting on how far we’ve collectively come. Time moves quickly when you’re in full flow, it’s important to stop and look back on the journey.

This isn’t it though. The connections you made in THDC are yours to keep for ever. We’ll keep the private group open just for course members indefinitely, and we’ll probably pop in from time to time. This is what it’s all about really – your own support team. This is priceless and worth way the cost of the course many times over on it’s own.

You can make your way through the course at whatever pace you like but we’ve learned that having a structure provokes debate, interaction and creative exchange amongst participants – in other words it makes the connections that will make you succeed.

Because of this working through the weekly sections to time is useful, but the course material is yours to refer back to forever and complete as many times as you like at your own pace.
